What is a Patient Participation Group?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients interested in health and healthcare issues, who want to get involved with and support the running of their local GP surgery.
We meet regularly and work closely with the practice staff to decide ways and means of making a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered by the practice to its patients.
The PPG is an important way for patients to relay any views on the provision and development of services at the surgery and for the doctors and practice manager to respond and advise if there are changes within the practice. The PPG would like to encourage and welcome patients to give their views on subjects relating to the surgery by contacting the group.
Please see ‘Welcome to the Patient Participation Group’ for a brief description.
Our Objectives
The principal objective of the Patient Participation Group is to give patients, GPs and practice staff the opportunity to meet, to exchange ideas and information, and then take action. This is a group of patients who wish to become more involved in practice decision making, support the practice and facilitating communications between the patients and the Practice Team.
Our Group’s activities help influence the operational side of the practice and are a useful tool in keeping patients informed of any changes taking place in the NHS.
How can you Help?
If your are a patient at our practice, and would you like to be more involved in the practice, could you spare an occasional hour or two periodically to respond to any specific questions we might have?
If so, we would love to hear from you and involve you in our group. To find out how to join see below.
