Dial 111 outside of surgery hours if you have a medical problem which can’t wait until the next working day.  (Surgery opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm daily excluding weekends and bank holidays. UK bank holidays.

Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)

If you’ve sustained a minor injury such as bites, stings, cuts, grazes, strains or sprains, minor scald or burn please attend the UTC instead of coming to the surgery.  More information can be on the Friarage Urgent Treatment Centre website.

Community Pharmacy

Did you know that you can see the community Pharmacist for issues relating to colds, hayfever and mild skin conditions and more; all you need to do is attend a chemist and ask to speak to their in-house Pharmacist.  A full list of pharmacies can be found by typing in your post code on the NHS Pharmacy Finder website.

Covid-19 Like Symptoms

If you have either a high temperature over 37.8 degrees Celsius, a new continuous cough, a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste then please stay at home and self-isolate for 10 days and arrange a coronavirus test via the Government’s website or by ringing 119.  If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 10 days, please contact the surgery and we will refer you onwards.

If you have had an appointment booked regarding a recent referral, please contact either the Friarage Hospital on, 01609 779911, or James Cook University Hospital on, 01642 850850, and ask to speak to the secretary of your required department.

Better Access Physiotherapy

Funded through Heartbeat Alliance, these community-based Physiotherapists are used as first contact regarding musculoskeletal problems and can be booked in to by contacting the surgery on 01609 772105Heartbeat Alliance, Physiotherapy (First Contact Physio).

Living Well

Do you have issues with finances, lifestyle or feel lonely?  Living well can provide you with guidance on all of these and put you in contact with services that can help you. Missing People

This chat service is aimed at people who are away from home or thinking of going missing. If you are a family member or friend of a missing person, you can call, text or email our Family Support service.

If you’re under 18, head over to Runaway Helpline where you can find information and resources to help you, as well as access their Online Chat service for young people.

Pregnancy

Have you recently found out that you’re pregnant?  Whether it was planned or unexpected you need to know where to go for next steps, this may be to see the Midwife or to arrange a termination.  Heartbeat Alliance, Pregnancy.
